Project Natal- Something worth looking at?
Microsoft's presentation at E3 really was something special. I was getting a bit bored until my favourite director Spielberg walked onto the stage hinting at a new Microsoft gadget.
MIlo was then showed off to the world by British company Lionhead. The woman playing the game was actually able to hold a conversation with the in game boy and pass objects to him from the real world. Although critics have said, “What’s the point” you can’t say that isn’t cool.
You are going to be able to use your whole body within the games of Natal. For example you can hold an invisible steering wheel stepping in and out to accelerate and brake respectively. Anything from golf to penalty shootouts can be more realstic thanks to full body control. This isnt a one handed gesture like Nintendo this is the future. To make the games unique to each user, Natal can actually scan real life things so that you can use your own football or golf club.
If this is released in the way the videos and previews have been put forward to the public then it is going to be one of the biggest leaps in technology we have ever seen. On top of this, at the recent Tokyo game show major developers such as Sega and Capcom have both announced their backing of the hardware and this is on top of all the other major developers which include EA, Activison and of course the expected Microsoft Game Studios.
For more information on this amazing new gadget it might be worth checking out a gadget blog.

Bungie No Longer Making Halo Games
Some sad video game news now for gamers, Bungie, game developers of the massively popular Halo series, have announced that once they finish with the production of Halo: Reach, they will no longer be creating any more Halo games.
This news was released during an interview with video game reviews site, IGN, with Lars Bakken. Drakken had this to say to IGN: “After Reach that’s it for us. We’re already working on a new project that we can’t talk about yet.”
Absolutely nothing is given away about the new title that is currently in the works. However, Bungie haven’t always developed FPS, oh no, before that they developed third person games, as well as some RTS games. Because of this, we have absolutely no idea what sort of game to expect next from Bungie.
What we do know is that many people will miss Bungies contribution to the Halo franchise. With the first release back in 2001 with Halo: Combat Evolved, the company went from strength to strength. Hitting the shelves soon after came Halo 2 and Halo 3 which both brought in record breaking sales to Bungie. Halo 3: ODST and the final game, Halo: Reach, are currently both in production at Bungie Studios. ODST is planned for a September 2009 release and the recently announced Reach game is planned for a late 2010 release. Obviously the release date for Halo: Reach cannot be confirmed, only a target can be given.
Don’t be too worried though Halo fans, any future games that may be developed are being handed over to the recently announced Microsoft 343 industries. Whether any games developed by them will manage the same top notch game reviews is unknown, it’s just a case of waiting and watching for now.
Lets just hope that they don’t send the franchie into any strange new direction that might ruin the game. It would would be terrible if that happened as the whole game and reputation would be ruined.
