WoW Mining – Easy and Profitable Gathering

December 20, 2009 · Filed Under Video Games · Comment

Mining is a good choice for a primary profession, especially if you are not sure which one to pick. Why? Mining is a great profession to have since it can accompany many other professions and it is even a need for them. Mining goes excellent with Jewelcrafting, Blacksmithing and Engineering. You can also pair it with another gathering profession such as Herbalism or Skinning, where Mining won’t have a direct influence on another profession but it will surely raise your profit. What do I need to start Mining?

Novice Miners need to have an access to a few necessary things. First thing is a mining pick which you can purchase at any mining supplies vendor or trade goods vendor, found usually near your mining trainer.

The next thing you will need to find are the veins. Just like Herbalism, Mining will provide you with ability to ‘Find Minerals’. When this ability is activated it will show veins as yellow dots on your minimap. By using an add-on such as Gatherer, you can record locations where you have found certain ores. You will be able to store the locations of veins found by any of the guild/party member who has the same addon as you.

Veins are mostly found in the mountain areas or on the hills or rocks. Depending on the area the level when it comes to veins will be higher/lower. For example, each of the starting areas is rich in Copper veins.

What will Mining bring you?

Mining comes with ability which is called Smelting. With Smelting you can create valuable metal bars from the ore you received while mining. When you mine you will also get stones, motes, and sometimes even valuable gems. For the best leveling guide click here: Ultimate Guide WoW

Mining paired with other professions

Mining is a very useful profession as it nicely complements several other primary crafting professions. Jewelcrafting, Engineering and Blacksmithing depend greatly on Mining. You can choose whatever pair of professions you like, however it is best that you pair up suitable and complementing ones, so you could level up your skill faster. Herbalism and Mining are said to be the ultimate gold making professions since all you need to do is fly around and gather ores and herbs which are usually found close to each other.

What are other benefits of Mining?

Mining, aside from its high profitability, is also an excellent choice for all the classes that are need of additional hit points, such as Warriors, Death Knight tanks and Paladins. Mining provides a special passive skill Toughness. It also provides some additional stamina, which is particularly useful during leveling, while giving a huge bonus of +500HP (50 stamina) at a maxed out skill level. This is an ideal bonus for a tank.

Classes that most often decide to pick up Mining professions are Paladins and Warriors. Death Knights are a new Hero class which are also wearing plate and tanking, so they can make a good use of mining as well. Nevertheless, not only plate wearers decide to go for Mining. Other classes do it also if their second profession is either Jewelcrafting or Engineering. If you would like more on WoW Leveling, click here: WoW Guide

Mining Level 1 to 450 Fast

October 3, 2009 · Filed Under Video Games · Comment

Mining is the most popular profession in World of Warcraft. Not only is it extremely useful for any metal-worker, but you can also rely on Mining to make you a good income throughout the game.

Not only do you dig up the raw ores with Mining, you can also smelt them into metal bars for Blacksmiths, Jewelcrafters and Engineers to use. It’s a great idea to combine Mining with one of these other professions.

It takes a good amount of time to reach the highest Mining level – 450 – but it is well worth the trip because you can dig up such valuable metals when you reach that level. Here is the very fastest route to level 450 in Mining:

Although each different starts the game in different areas, here is the intro guide for Dwarves and Gnomes. To read for each race, go here: World of Warcraft Mining Guide. Step one: get trained to Apprentise Mining in town, then reach level 30 by digging for copper ore in Dun Morogh and Durotar. Turn the copper into bars using your smelting ability and save them.

You can train as a Journeyman Miner at level 65. Mine around the Thousand Needles and the Redridge Mountains, looking for tin – usually mixd in with copper and iron. Turn the tin in to bars by smelting, then combine the tin and copper bars to make Bronze bars. Continue until you hit level 95.

Now dig up and turn Silver Ore into bars, which’ll bring you to level 125. Do this around the Arathi Highland and the Thousand Needles. At level 125 you can become Expert Mining. When you reach level 155 and can smelt gold bars, the quickest thign to do now is to just buy gold ore and turn it into bars to get to level 175. You can always sell these bars to afford the ore.

Become expert in Mining at level 225. And move to the Hinterlands and Tanaris area to continue Mining. When you arrive at level 230, get the Truesilver Ore Smelting ability and smelt Truesilver Ore until you reach level 245.

We are now moving into the high levels of mining and you want to get over to Winterspring. Focus on mining and smelting thorium bars (you’ll need to train the skill first). You can find the most Torium around the Eastern Plaguelands. And next, focus on mining Fel Ore near the Hellfire Peninsula – this will get you up to level 325. When you are there mining for Adamandite Ore in Nagrand will bring you up to 350.
