Will We Be Seeing Another Tony Hawk In 2010?
Activision have now released their earnings report for the quarter just gone. The publisher announced making $200 million profits on a $1 billion sales earnings. However, the golden piece of video game news behind this announcement is some new game releases were hinted at within their financial report.
Within all the technical talk, there were some hints that in the not too distant future we may see a new Spiderman, Bond, and Tony Hawks game. Mike Griffth, the president of Activision, has confirmed the new Bond game, but has not yet done so for the other 2. Unfortunately, Mr Griffth didn’t give out much information, simple it was in production.
The last Bond game released was published by Activision, and it looks to be one of the best Bond games yet. The game allowed players to play through the adventures in both films, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. That game had been built by Treyarch, the masters behind many Call of Duty games, probably why it grabbed to many good video game ratings. However, Treyarch was not mentioned as the developers behind this new announcement.
Also, nothing was released about how the storyline of the game would go. so really we have no idea where the storyline could go, it could be based entirely on a new story, a previously released film, or many even a prequel to a yet to be announced film.
As for the other 2 games, there were rumours recently about a new Spiderman film being released wich would suggest a new game release aswell, this I look forward to. Finally, the last game hinted at, Tony Hawks, I don’t think this is going to happen because with Tony Hawk: Ride being released in November, I reckon they won’t release another so quickly after Ride. Although, you never know what they will release next, we’ll just have to wait and see.
