WoW Jewelcrafting – A Gem Cutter with Style
Jewelcrafting was introduced with the Burning Crusade expansion. Since then it is considered to be one of the most popular professions in WoW. The reason for its popularity is a wide range of useful gems and items one can make as a professional Jewelcrafter.
With Jewelcrafting you will be able to create unique gems for yourself. These gems will surely boost your stats no matter which class you chose to play. If you are Jewelcrafter Shadow Priest or a Warlock, your damage production will be enhanced by special spell power gems. How to start?
To start your work as a Jewelcrafter you need to start mining and prospect ores. You will be able to choose how to level up Jewelcrafting and there are two ways – choose Mining as your second profession or visit the Auction House, buy stacks of ores and start prospecting. The second option is obviously more expensive one but less time taking. The choice is yours.
Prospecting skill comes together with Jewelcrafting. This skill is used to prospect ores and then extract gems.
At higher levels of Jewelcrafting you will be able to make a special Icy Prism which has a cooldown of 20h. Icy Prism gives a chance of extract highly valuable gems, worth a lot of gold on the Auction House. Creation of Icy Prism requires a frozen orb and a few gems of lower value.
What else can a Jewelcrafter make?
As said before, a Jewelcrafter can make valuable gems, but he can also make rings, trinkets and necklaces. He can even sell some epic rings and necklaces to other players for a nice amount of gold since these items are considered to be really good when it comes to stats.
There are also some other useful items a Jewelcrafter is able to make, like the statues made of stone. Stone statues act as small stone guardians, providing a certain amount of healing over time. This comes particularly useful on lower levels while levelling or when in trouble. For the best leveling guide click here: WoW Ultimate Guide Review
Is Jewelcrafting profitable?
It is amazingy profitable! As soon as you reach the Outlands most of the pieces of better gear have one or more sockets available. Sockets are made to fit Red, Yellow or Blue gems. A green gem, for example can also be placed in a yellow or blue socket, purple gem can be placed in either blue or red while orange gem can fit yellow or red socket.
With level 80 you will be able to play more heroics and join 10/25 man raids, which means that better gear will come your way. Of course, a good piece of gear will require the best gems to fit in sockets, and this is where a good Jewelcrafter fits in. They will thus be able to obtain a considerable profit, simply from cutting gems for other players or providing them with finished products on the AH.
To learn new recipes you need to do the Jewelcrafting daily quests as often as possible. These quests are obtainable in Dalaran and the name of the quest-giver is Timothy Jones. By accomplishing them you will come in possession with special tokens that can be used for purchasing rare Jewelcrafting recipes.
If Jewelcrafting is your choice for a primary profession, rest assured that it will be a lot of fun to level it and that it will also come as very profitable later on. If you would like more on WoW Leveling, click here: WoW Levelling Guides
